I don't own a copy of this yet (it's on my long list to acquire), but I did hear it on the Dr Demento show. Roy Zimmerman has some other pretty good tunes on youtube that are worth listening to.
I'm not opposed to recreational drugs and I'm also not a proponent - they don't do anything for me. I think it's deeply wrong to write laws and imprison people for medical problems. I think it's immoral to make people live and end up dying in pain because of some kind of stuipidity in the legal system. The whole legal scheme of drug laws is an intrusion by legislators into what at best should be medical issues. Old people (like me) should be allowed whatever escape they feel is fitting or effective in reducing whatever pains the "... slings and arrows of outrageous fortune..." might be visiting on them. I would choose alcohol, but it actually makes me feel worse - I don't even get a buzz from it.
Anyway, this song is cheerful and funny and I hope it helps people become more tolerant with other peoples pain relief.
